Last Man Standing Project - Marines of India Company 3/5

We get asked to create many unique treasures here at Memories Made. It is such a rewarding experience to help our customers capture special moments in their lives by personalizing items that will be celebrated for years to come.
When Tom Gainer contacted us to help with his Last Man Standing project we were touched by his story. Tom is a marine who served his country during the Vietnam war. In July of 1966 Tom and his fellow marines fought in a battle during which 27 of his brothers fell. Tom asked us to create a custom memorial box to help honor his fallen friends.
The following text was engraved on the inside tray of the box:
TO BE A MARINE IS TO BE A PART OF SOMETHING
THAT REPRESENTS THE BEST OF OUR NATION. IT
IS TO ACCEPT A WAY OF LIFE THAT EMBODIES
SELFLESS SERVICE - TO DEFEND THOSE WHO
CANNOT DEFEND THEMSELVES, TO THRIVE IN
THE HARDSHIP AND SACRIFICE EXPECTED OF
AN ELITE WARRIOR CLASS, TO MARCH TO THE
SOUND OF THE GUNS, AND TO ABLY SHOULDER
THE HERITAGE CREATED BY THOSE WHO HAVE
GONE BEFORE US. THOUGH OUR FALLEN CAN NO
LONGER PARTICIPATE IN OUR TRADITIONS, THEY
WILL ALWAYS BE A PART OF US AND WHO WE ARE.
The USMC emblem along with the following inscription was added to the top of the box:
Honor Courage Commitment
Semper Fi
The custom box is on the way to Colorado now and we can only hope it serves its purpose well. Thank you for your service Tom and thank you for letting us help you with this very special project.
